LA County launches website to connect immigrants to resources

The Los Angeles County Office of Immigrant Affairs (OIA) has launched a newly redesigned website to connect the county’s 3.6 million immigrants to critical wraparound services available for them and their families during the COVID-19 pandemic and its economic fallout.

The website, immigrants.lacounty.gov, includes an interactive, map-based immigrant services directory. This feature allows visitors to search by topic and location for critical services like COVID-19 testing and vaccinations, health care, food assistance, housing support, legal representation, and small business services provided by over 200 County agencies and community-based organizations. The new website also has information about some of the most pressing immigration questions, including public charge, DACA, and evolving immigration policies.

“This location-based approach helps people find services that are nearby, something that may be difficult to accomplish when reviewing a list of service options,” said Dr. Steven J. Steinberg, Geographic Information Officer for the County of Los Angeles. “The platform also provides OIA with an easy-to-update system so that service options and locations can be updated on a more frequent basis to help ensure the most accurate information.”

“OIA is the home for all immigrant Angelinos to access wraparound support services available for them and their families, regardless of their immigration status,” said Rigo Reyes, OIA’s Executive Director. “This helpful website, made possible by the generosity and expertise of our partners, is the latest addition to our efforts to help them.”

Wonderful! Immigrants pay into Social Security and Medicare because of ITIN’s issued by the IRS, yet they can’t collect what they pay into. They work jobs Americans don’t want to work, this is why corporations hire hard working immigrants. As far as cartels, well, that is another issue that has nothing to do with hard working immigrants. There wouldn’t be cartels working the U.S. if not for supply on demand for the addict nation we’re known for.

Sure they all ran down and got their ITIN. Gimme a break. Most get paid cash, no taxes. Some pay taxes under someone else’s SS number which screws that legal taxpayer when they file taxes and the IRS comes after them for under-reporting income.

Most who have an ITIN in CA are honestly trying to become a citizen. That number declines each year since there is really no reason to become a citizen anymore. Everything is available, and in some cases, more benefits are available to the undocumented (illegal).

Immigrants contribute billions of dollars into Social Security and Medicare every year through ITIN’s. ITIN’s issued by the IRS are in place of Social Security numbers. Some have been busted for for using someone else’s SS number. I appreciate hardworking immigrants and their contribution into those trust funds.

Wow, your pathological guilt complex is driving your obsessive virtue signalling and pandering to illegals, BLM and homeless junkies to the detriment of real citizens, taxpayers and law abiding people.

You’d spend someone else’s money on your socialist nonsense to repent for your own guilt until the people that actually carry the load are broke.

They are better of heading to New York, where they will be giving up to $15,600 to each individual immigrant.
So make sure you work hard and pay your taxes so we can fund the cartels.

Funny how there are services for immigrants but none for blue-collared, hard working Americans. This country is going down the toilet.

They don’t care about the citizens of the United States or veterans but they’ll help illegal immigrants but they won’t help the homeless this makes me sick and tired of our damn politicians that people keep putting in office we need to get rid of every damn Democrat there is
