PALMDALE – A woman found dead Monday morning outside a crashed vehicle on the Antelope Valley (14) Freeway has been identified as 20-year-old Veronica Garcia of Palmdale, authorities said.

Garcia’s body was discovered by a Caltrans cleanup crew around 9:55 a.m. Monday, Dec. 14, near an overturned 2017 Infiniti Q50 on the southbound 14 Freeway, near Vista Point, according to a California Highway Patrol report.

CHP investigators believe Garcia was driving the Infiniti southbound on the 14 Freeway when, for unknown reasons, the vehicle veered off the roadway, overturned and landed on its roof down an embankment, ejecting her from the car.

“The use of alcohol and/or drugs as a factor in this collision is still under investigation, pending a toxicology report,” the CHP report states.

Authorities are seeking witnesses to this crash, and are encouraging anyone with information to call Officer C. Borne at Antelope Valley CHP office at 661-948-8541.

My grandsons little brother was killed on the 14I on April 23rd and my grandson just got out of ICI
from being in a coma since the accident. We are still going through it. The funeral is Friday. My grandson doesn’t know his brother died yet. I will be praying for this family. Because it’s so hard losing a loved one. ❤️

… for all motorists under 26 years of age, texting while driving is their birthright. Their attitude about it isn’t that they’re texting while driving. But, that they’re driving, while texting. If they die, then that die –

Most car accidents involve sober drivers, not intoxicated drivers. Basic statistics.

Really George? First responders? In case you didn’t comprehend what you read, the story clearly states that a CALTRANS CLEAN UP CREW are the one’s who discovered the wreckage. The article is also asking for any possible witnesses to come forward. So unless you yourself saw what was or wasn’t in the vehicle I suggest you keep your ignorant comments and assumptions to yourself. REST IN PARADISE STEPHANIE
