by The AV Times Staff • December 10, 2020 10 Comments

LANCASTER – A 57-year-old man, described by authorities as possibly homeless, went missing in the Antelope Valley last year and the sheriff’s department is seeking the public’s help to find him.

Martin Mitchel Sandoval was last seen in the Antelope Valley area around 11 a.m. on Sept. 1, 2019, according to a news release from the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.

He is described as Hispanic, 5 feet 9 inches tall, 163 pounds, with hazel eyes, a bald head and a “Mom” tattoo on his left hand. He was last wearing a red shirt, blue pants and tennis shoes.

“His family are very concerned for his well-being and asking for the public’s assistance in locating him,” the sheriff’s news release states.

Anyone with information about Sandoval’s whereabouts is encouraged to call the sheriff’s Missing Persons Unit at 323-890-5500. Those wishing to report anonymously can call 800-222-TIPS.

Dear Mars, apparently, the AV times didn’t post the first comment I made prior to posting my Footnote. I basically said if the missing people think that they left for LA’s skid row to have your local authorities, TV media, AV Times, or other people call the authorities in those suspected jurisdictions to do some poking around and hopefully find out. Also the Murder Accountability Project’s (MAP) Thomas Hargrove has said that there may as many as 2000 serial killers in the United States. Whether that’s all the serial killers ever to live in the US or the ones currently active, I couldn’t find a definitive statement about that information. I further stated that if it appears that I’m fearmonger, I want to apologize for that right now. I really hope I’m wrong, but if I’m right may god help you catch the guilty party(ies). Just, please, be observant in your daily lives, and if you see something out of kilter — state your observations to the proper authorities. May God bless the AV and have a merry Christmas.

The second sentence should have read: I basically said that if the people think the missing people left for LA’s skid row……..

I would check with his last address, then people he hung out with. Then a family member, the family is always last. You want to focus on his address, then people he hung out with, then the tunnels in mojave.

Footnote: The FBI estimates there are as little as 30 active serial killers in the US as of 2015. So who knows. Be it remember though — it only takes one.

Well now, if skid row in LA is such an obvious place for missing people to relocate, why doesn’t someone (law enforcement, the news papers, TV media, you, etc…) call down to those locations and have those local authorities do a little poking around to maybe find out? Just be advised, Murder Accountability Project’s (MAP) Thomas Hargrove estimates that there are approximately 2000 active serial killers in the US at any given time. I hope I’m wrong, but God help you find the guilty party(ies) if I’m right. Well, anyway, I’m hoping for happy conclusions for those missing people. If it appears that I’m fearmongering, I apologize right now because that isn’t my intention. Just please keep your powers of observation about you, and if you see something out of kilter say something to the proper authorities. May you have a merry Christmas.

I searched your website for “missing persons”, and it appears to me that the Antelope Valley has a serial killer on their hands with an appetite for opportunity. Ya ya, sure you’ve grown allot since I was at Edwards in the late 80s, but you still too many people going missing in such a short period to time. Besides, when I performed the search it didn’t call up that missing 4’11” lady. What happened to her?
