Pair charged with voter fraud

by The AV Times Staff • November 17, 2020 5 Comments

LOS ANGELES – Two men have been charged in a 41-count criminal complaint for allegedly submitting thousands of fraudulent voter registration applications on behalf of homeless people, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced Tueday.

Carlos Antonio De Bourbon Montenegro, 53, aka Mark Anthony Gonsalves, and Marcos Raul Arevalo, 34, were each charged with one count of conspiracy to commit voter fraud, eight counts of voter fraud, four counts of procuring and offering a false or forged instrument and four misdemeanor counts of interference with a prompt transfer of a completed affidavit.

Montenegro faces an additional 10 counts of voter fraud, seven counts of procuring and offering a false or forged instrument, two counts of perjury and five misdemeanor counts of interference with a prompt transfer of a completed affidavit.

The case was filed for warrant on November 12.

Montenegro allegedly submitted more than 8,000 fraudulent voter registration applications between July and October 2020. The defendant also is accused of falsifying names, addresses and signatures on nomination papers under penalty of perjury to run for mayor in the city of Hawthorne.

If convicted as charged, Montenegro faces a possible maximum sentence of 15 years and eight months in state prison, while Arevalo faces a possible maximum sentence of seven years in prison.

The Public Integrity Division is prosecuting the case.

The case remains under investigation by the District Attorney’s Bureau of Investigation.

Ya got 7 million more to prove Beecee.

I’ll bet there are more Republicans commiting voter fraud. Back when Romney ran, he used his son’s basement address as his residence to vote in Massachusetts.

      That’s just for starters.

      Nice try. No pass.

It can’t be true. The MSM says there is and has never been any evidence of voter fraud anywhere in the country. Maybe the 8,000 fraudulent votes will help Garcia lose once the get them all removed.

Just a point of order. MSM never said there was no evidence of voter fraud ever. They said no evidence of Widespread voter fraud. As in, nothing that would effect a national election. Same with this case.

I read the actual criminal complaint to be sure [You can find it here (https://losangeles.cbslocal.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/14984641/2020/11/BA491333.pdf)].

It’s literally just a guy trying to cheat his way into being mayor of the city of Hawthorne in LA County. He tried to register to run and failed then he tried to use these fake ballots to submit himself as a write in candidate.

Absolutely nothing to do with the Presidential election. Especially in a state where Biden already won by over 5 million votes.

It’s hard to believe from what we know about Trump supporters and their innate ignorance and inability to work within reality, that there aren’t millions of incorrectly completed ballots for Trump.

The prevailing assumption is always that it’s Democratic ballots that are suspect.

I don’t think so. Just look at the incompetence of Trump’s legal team since November 3. They haven’t done anything right starting with the 4 Seasons Total Landscaping presser. It went downhill from there.

Do you seriously think Trump’s voters filled out their ballots correctly? They can’t be smarter than Trump and his legal team. If they are….no they aren’t.
