Authorities ID man fatally struck by vehicle on 14 Freeway

ACTON – Authorities have identified the man who died Sunday after he was struck by a vehicle on the Antelope Valley (14) Freeway in the Acton area.

He was 19-year-old Juan Hernandez Miranda of Newhall, according to the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office.

The fatal collision happened around 4:30 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 15, on the southbound Antelope Valley (14) Freeway at Escondido Canyon Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Witnesses told the CHP that a male who was on the freeway was struck by a vehicle, according to the CHP.

It was unclear why the man was on the freeway.

    An intoxicated man who wandered onto the freeway?

      They should look on AV Scanner page for info. Radio traffic of incident said that he was with brother and their vehicle overturned. As he was exiting vehicle, he was struck by a passing vehicle.
