Palmdale seeks input from residents for Melville J. Courson Park

by The AV Times Staff • November 4, 2020

PALMDALE — The city of Palmdale is hosting two virtual community meetings on Zoom to gather feedback from residents about what features they would like to see at Melvin J. Courson park, located at 10th Street East, between Palmdale Boulevard and Avenue R.

The first meeting will be held on Thursday, Nov. 5, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., and will provide an overview and discussion of park amenities. Interested persons may register at https://bit.ly/3jRWKDQ .  The second will take place on Dec. 2 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. and will present a site plan for review and comments. Registration is available at https://bit.ly/3mJv0TK .

This project will be submitted for state and/or county grant funds for construction. The city is looking to renovate the existing park by developing new recreational features and enhancing other major park features.

“Help us shape the renovation of Courson Park by joining us for a series of community park design meetings and let us know what changes you would like to see,” said Palmdale Director of Parks & Recreation Keri Smith.
