Child shot in Lancaster; hospitalized with apparent leg wound

LANCASTER – A child was shot and wounded Monday in Lancaster.

Paramedics sent to the 2100 block of East Avenue J-8 about 10:50 a.m. took the child to a hospital, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department, which did not release any details about the injury or the patient’s age.

CBS2 reported that the child suffered a leg wound, and was accompanied to the hospital by a parent.

The sheriff’s department, which handles law enforcement in Lancaster, had no immediate information on the circumstances surrounding the child’s injury.

No further information on the incident was immediately available.
