PALMDALE – The city of Palmdale is making Poncitlán Square available to the faith-based community this weekend for a time of prayer.

Any faith-based group in the Antelope Valley may contact the city of Palmdale to reserve a 75-minute time slot (15 minutes to set up and break down, 45 minutes of prayer).

To reserve a time, contact Terrie Zayas at 661-267-5937 or email tzayas@cityofpalmdale.org.

If there is enough interest, Poncitlán Square will be made available on Sunday, May 24.

All guests are encouraged to remain in their vehicles or to practice safe social distancing and wear face coverings. Anyone who is ill should not attend.

Praying is not confined to a public space surrounded by government buildings. Humble prayer is done anywhere at anytime, and not meted out.

I love it! Government telling us how long we can pray at a park. It’s only going to get worse with politicians playing like doctors without a degree. Would you let a councilman perform a medical procedure on you???

Depends… does the councilman have medical training?
The government managing time in a park is totally reasonable. That is what government does, it manages things. In this managing how much time each group has to exhibit their religious beliefs in a public, tax payer funded venue.

Scary and dangerous! They have no training and they still want to make medical decisions! They only are watching the finances now not the science.
