Authorities ID foster boy who died in Palmdale; investigation continuing

by City News Service • January 27, 2020

PALMDALE – Authorities Monday identified a 19-month-old foster boy who died in Palmdale, and the investigation was continuing into his death.

Deputies responded to a call of a baby not breathing in the 5700 block of Monaco Lane, near 55 Street East, at 9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 24, according to Lt. Brandon Dean of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Joseph Chacon was taken to a hospital, where he died, according to the Los Angeles County coroner’s office, which reported that the case had been placed on a security hold. The boy’s foster parents reportedly were questioned by investigators.

The boy was found unresponsive in a car seat inside a vehicle outside the home, according to broadcast reports that showed the vehicle being towed away and three other small children being taken from the home, apparently by L.A. County Child Protective Services.

Anyone with information about this death is urged to call the Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau at 323-890-5500. Anonymous tips can be called in to Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477 or submitted online at lacrimestoppers.org.

In the end we all suffered from how situations like this one turned out. Families are separated for negligence on not following up with a case.

May Joseph Chacón rest in peace.

People wouldn’t have to do it for money if parents knew how to take care of their kids and didnt abuse or neglect them. Its easy to blame foster parents but have you ever stopped to think why the kid was im fostercare to begin with?

Like the State never takes children without good cause from their home? And does it even matter? Who the hell takes an abused child and then abuse them some more? Only sick people who exploit others for their gain. As a former foster child who grew up in foster care- f* you. A child would rather have an abusive parent than an abusive foster parent any day. Kids want their families. The CHILDREN are what’s important- and these foster parents ARE to blame.

The inexperience of a social worker picking a case on the first visit of investigation. The lack of knowledge from the system on not evaluating the foster caregivers to see how is their own personal life. I can go on and on giving you answers.

Not everyone does it for money. We have to be careful about making blanket statements like everybody and always. Do we ever stop and wonder how much hate we are propagating when tragedy occurs and emotions get stirred up?

This isn’t remotely effective and producing change.
