PALMDALE – Local, regional, and state officials were on hand recently to celebrate the start of construction on Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Advanced Development Programs’ (Skunk Works) new 208,000 sq. ft., state-of-the-art manufacturing facility at Plant 42 in Palmdale.

The new Low Bay Advanced Manufacturing Facility, the first new building at the plant in almost 30 years, will allow Lockheed Martin to integrate the use of AI, robotics, and other advanced technologies that help reduce costs, while incorporating advanced safety features for the workforce.

Palmdale Mayor Steve Hofbauer presented Lockheed with a certificate of appreciation and shared his remarks with the guests in attendance.

“Lockheed Martin is an important aerospace and defense partner, and today’s groundbreaking is another indication of their commitment to ensuring their ongoing support of vital national security missions,” Hofbauer said. “It will also have a very positive impact on the local economy.”

Other speakers included Jeff Babione, Vice President and General Manager, Lockheed Martin Aeronautics’ Advanced Development Programs, Skunk Works; State Senator Scott Wilk, CA-21; and State Assemblyman Tom Lackey, CA-36.

Like with Trump, when Rex is no longer mayor what will happen to Lancaster? Both have surrounded themselves with…..how to say this….weak-minded minions who will not be able to clean up the messes left behind e.g. Marv.

The future for Lancaster is so dim, you’ll have to wear night vision goggles.

Amazing times! Fascinating aviation history in the A.V.

The AV does have a very fascinating aviation history. This of all the amazing aircraft that have been build, flown, or tested here. It is mind boggling. The only blemish is that LEAPS plane which makes a mockery of both flight and crime prevention. But it made $10 million tax dollars for one of the good old boys, which is the main function of the Fern St. Mafia.

LEAPS has nothing to do with this subject, or your pressing agenda.

“The new Low Bay Advanced Manufacturing Facility, the first new building at the plant in almost 30 years” – Northrop has been building new buildings to date at Plant 42 Site 3&4 for the last decade, must be only the LM site which is not USAF property. Yeah LM nice job.

This is Lockheed’s first new building. The story is about Lockheed, not Northrop.
There will be stories about Northrop for sure, especially with the B-21.

Aerospace is on the move in Palmdale.

First building at Lockheed plant in 30 years. That is what it says. Glad to see them and Northrop growing. Jobs, jobs, jobs.

For perspective, the average Wal Mart size is 105,000 sq ft. This facility is huge.

AI, robotics, and advanced tech mean fewer and fewer jobs.

Huh? How do think AI and robotics are implemented? Are you a product of Rex’s school systems?

More jobs!!!!!!!!!!!! A shot in the arm to the AV Economy. Imagine what the AV would have been like with Kinkyshiro’s new manufacturing center. Too bad it was killed by Rex minion Kathy “Job Killer” MacLaren. All she and Rex care about is Communist Chinese BYD.

Yes she is in a political partnership with the Lancaster council/mayor and her husband sits with the city council at the meetings with some kind of title, he is very chummy with Rex and Marvin. Can’t be good
