by The AV Times Staff • September 25, 2019

PALMDALE – Authorities have identified a motorist who was killed when his subcompact car collided with a trash truck in Palmdale.

He was Omar Dominguez Ortiz, 40, of San Bernardino, the coroner’s office reported.

The crash — involving a Honda Fit and a Waste Management truck — was reported about 11:50 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, at Avenue M and 20th Street East, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

According to the sheriff’s department, the eastbound Honda hit the side of the truck, which had been making a left turn from 20th Street east onto Avenue M. The truck driver suffered minor injuries and was treated at a hospital.

If you read the details of the article, it’s clear the “eastbound” Honda was in the wrong. If the trash truck was making a left FROM 20th East ONTO Ave M, that means that eastbound traffic must have had a red light and yet homeboy flew through the intersection at 75 MPH. And the man in the trash truck did not suffer “minor injuries” unless you consider having an organ removed and almost bleeding to death internally to be “minor”… So you should learn to read as well as know all of the details before you go assuming things and making inaccurate statements, especially which slander someone who was in fact the victim in the situation.

You have no clue what you are talking about. Where do you get that this truck driver had organs removed and almost bled to death!?!
There are many incorrect details in this story. The trash truck was coming out from Northrop Grumman on site 2 rd. First of all. Second my ex husband didn’t blow through the intersection for no reason. He was having a major heart attack when this was happening!!! You are the one making slanderous statements. Show me where it says the trash truck driver had organs removed and almost bled to death!!! We know the fire fighters who responded and helped Omar and the truck driver. And the truck driver did not have major injuries like you are saying!!!

In other words, the trash truck driver made a left turn without letting Omar to pass, ergo blocking Omar’s way (his right of way) and killing him thereafter. It looks more like Big As-struck Drivers (B.A.D.) couldn’t care less for anyone else on the road unless, of course, if you drive a bigger vehicle than their’s. Does anyone at the local authority do anything about it??
