PALMDALE — The city of Palmdale is hosting a series of community meetings to gather feedback from residents about what features they would like to see at their neighborhood parks.

Meetings will be held:

  • Wednesday, June 12, and Wednesday, July 10, at Rancho Vista Park, located on the corner of 35th Street West and Town Center Drive.
  • Friday, June 14, and Thursday, July 11, at Yellen Park, located at 5100 East Avenue S.

All meetings will begin at 6:30 p.m.

The first meeting at each location will cover an overview and discussion of the proposed park amenities, while the second meeting will present a final site plan for review and comment.

“We’re looking forward to meeting with our residents and getting their input on these exciting new park projects,” said Director of Recreation and Culture Keri Smith. “Either attend a meeting or complete our online survey so that your voice is heard.”

To help finance these projects, the City is applying for State of California and Los Angeles County grant funding.

Residents may register to receive updates at www.cityofpalmdale.org/parkdesign.

To learn more, call 661-267-5611.

There are the cult of Debbie Downers that always post, but I know all the positive works that the good people of this community do. Keep up the good work and stay positive and thankful for all the good in this community.

There are many great people doing great things in this community. Many.
There are also a few power hungry, self serving people who follow their Pied Piper Wrecks and will do whatever he want for a silly commission title, campaign contributions, or payoffs.
I salute the great people. I reject the followers of Wrecks.

This is such a positive step in Palmdale. Some people are never happy with anything in the A.V. Best to surround ourselves with positive people doing positive things in our wonderful community.

The BLVD and East Lancaster are the real crime magnets in the AV. That’s not counting what goes on in the backrooms on Fern Street…..

Where did the money come from to do this advanced planning? I mean is this the most important opportunity to spend our City resources on?

The Rex hand picked council in Palmdale has been spending money like drunken sailors. Is it part of the plan to bankrupt Palmdale so Lancaster can absorb it? Look at the power deal that was cut. Rex and the boys get a cut of Palmdale rate payers electric payments. WTF? We have plenty of parks in Palmdale. We need to get back to what made us great.

I like Palmdale’s new trash cans. The game is to throw your trash at the box and try and make it as you drive by. City generated blight!
