LANCASTER – Lancaster dermatologist Dr. Jeffrey Ross Gunter was appointed Tuesday as U.S. ambassador to Iceland by President Donald Trump.

His practice, GunterMD Dermatology, has locations in Lancaster, Texas, Nevada and Arizona.

Gunter was a clinical professor of medicine at USC’s Keck Medicine Center and chief resident of dermatology at Los Angeles County+USC Medical Center.

Gunter graduated from Beverly Hills High School, UC Berkeley and USC’s Keck Medicine Center.

Gunter’s 2016 campaign donations included $58,563 to various state Republican party committees, $33,400 to the Republican National Committee and the maximum $5,400 to Trump’s presidential campaign, according to Federal Election Commission records compiled by the website OpenSecrets.org.

Gunter is a member of the board of directors of the Republican Jewish Coalition, which bills itself as “the unique bridge between the Jewish community and Republican decision-makers.”

Gunter has said he was among the youths playing baseball at Beverly Hills’ Roxbury Park in the final scene of the 1973 Oscar-wining drama “Save the Tiger.”

Jeez look at all the stupid liberal comments here. I enjoy seeing our president piss you morons off. I think Dr. Gunter will be a great ambassador and at least I dont have to worry about crooked HIllary scamming money from them not to mention I am expecting to see her and that loser Obama going to prison and taking Bill and Comey and Mueller with them.

I was a patient of this over arrogant dr 3hr wait times 12 second look at my back out the door before I could ask him what about this lesion here that did turn out to be cancer, a trump appointment makes sense, you were never as good as you thought you were at dermatology I know I’ve been elsewhere it’s just that we have few choices up here. Be thankful it’s only Ireland.

Being in the Trump Camp I don’t suppose he will confront the whaling industry in Iceland that have taken nearly 100 whales this season and some of them pregnant.

Only if it can make money for the Trump Organization as a stock manipulation scheme.

Iceland is considering banning all male circumcision until the age of consent. Dr. Gunter is Jewish, and a Dermatologist.

Dr. Gunter is on board of directors of the Republican Jewish Coalition. Sheldon Adelson (worth 43 Billion), founded this Coalition in the 1980’s and is a major contributor, So Dr. Gunter’s donations are chump change, and it isn’t about that anyway. Donald Trump and Sheldon Adelson have close ties, and are both in the casino business.

Why send people who can pay for a position, but hasd no experience whatsoever in diplomatic affairs… probably we will hear that the #TraitorTrump regime is imposing tariffs on Botox to “Communist Iceland”…

He has plenty of experience. It’s called an agenda.

Dr. Gunter also speaks Spanish, French, and Dutch, so he’s not some bozo one the bus.

Iceland is considering a ban on male circumcision until the age of consent. Interesting that Trump wants a Jewish dermatologist to be Ambassador to Iceland.

I’m really confused how being on television, treating skin conditions and donating to republican campaigns makes Dr. Gunter qualified for diplomacy.

Don’t forget he was an extra in a movie once.

He is not a very personable doctor. He had to set up new practices because he couldn’t retain his clients. I feel sorry for the progressive democratic socialist, liberal, and very nice people of Iceland that have to deal with this jerk.

My only interaction with his office (my mother was a patient) involved finding out that they only had two appointment times, opening and after lunch. If you had a “one o’clock appointment” all it meant was that you had to get there at one and wait until your turn came up.

Wasting the entire afternoon (and into the evening) of an entire day worth of patients was just a minor consequence of making sure that there was always a next patient and not a moment of his important time would be wasted. When I told them my mother was diabetic and couldn’t just sit around in the waiting room past six o’clock waiting for her one o’clock appointment I was basically told “tough luck for her then.”

No surprise the guy is a Trumpist. Autocrat to the core.

It says how right there in the article: “Gunter’s 2016 campaign donations included $58,563 to various state Republican party committees, $33,400 to the Republican National Committee and the maximum $5,400 to Trump’s presidential campaign”…. He bought his qualification for $92,503.

Sweet deal. According to google, the 2017 minimum pay for ambassadors is $124,406 a year. The maximum is $187,000 and comes with free overseas housing and free health and life insurance. Probably let him pick from a list of countries that are not a threat to anyone and are just living their lives. I wonder if New Zealand or Finland was on the list….
