LOS ANGELES – A Canyon Country woman was sentenced Friday to 10 years in state prison for causing a crash last fall in Santa Clarita that killed a mother of six, who was driving home after visiting her premature twin daughters in a hospital.
Alexia Alilah Cina, 21, was driving southbound on Golden Valley Road at a high rate of speed when her car struck the center median and crashed head-on into Katie Snyder Evans’ Honda on the northbound side of the road on Oct. 6, 2017, according to Deputy District Attorney Courtney Armendariz.
The 37-year-old mother was pronounced dead at the scene.
A third vehicle struck the two Hondas involved in the initial crash. One person suffered critical injuries and another suffered minor injuries in the secondary crash, according to authorities.
Sheriff’s traffic investigators said toxicology test results revealed Cina had a blood-alcohol content of 0.21 percent — more than double the legal limit of 0.08 percent.
Cina was initially charged with four counts, including murder, in connection with the crash. She pleaded no contest June 25 to one count of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.

Willybill says
… for attractive women, life’s a great big bowl of cherries. They don’t have to be nice; they don’t have to try as hard. Good behavior, she’ll be back out on the streets inside 18 months. After quick and dirty chapter 9 bankruptcy, she’ll be off scoff free, clear from posting compensatory restitution, not one red cent ever paid to the victim’s survivors –
Laughing says
Willybill, she is not a municipality. Criminal Restitution is Non-Dischargeable
Craig says
Certain forms of restitution can be discharged under bankruptcy; certain things can’t. Fraud, for example, intentionally lying, credit card fraud, that the perpetrator made false representations, restitution cannot be discharged under bankruptcy law. That Miss Cina had presence of mind to file a nolo contendre? That she made no official representation, nor misrepresentation, there’s a realistic chance Miss Cina could have the restitution discharged under bankruptcy, or substantially parsed. Regardless, Miss Cina could stunt restitution several ways, indefinitely. Not only does bankruptcy forestall collection activity? Mere hint of Miss Cina filing bankruptcy? Any attempt at collection must immediately halt, the moment the debtor elucidates intent of filing bankruptcy. Payment arrangements for restitution pending discharge, extending well beyond statute of limitations, it’s unlikely the victims will ever see a penny from the likes of Miss Cina, whom will most certainly skip town at first opportunity, change her name, perhaps disappear to some rural area in Idaho, Wyoming or Montana. That bankruptcy can be filed at specific intervals, restitution can be forestalled over decades.

My friend was in a car accident his passenger died and he was NOT drunk.they have him years and she was drunk and only got 10 smh.
Mary says
at the very least she should have to serve the entire 10 years no early release which she will probably get. OK Yes first DUI..hello she’s 21 and yes attractive sadly probably did play a role. Very sad sentence this family lost their wife/mother…where is the justice?
Ronald says
… Santa Clarita people have 2 things in common: (1) they’re ill-mannered, and (2) they drive their cars with the same sense of self-entitlement they have, urinating. They’ll run you over like a dog. They flat don’t care.
Gowchong says
Sad thing is she’ll only serve at most three years…probably less.
Colette says
the court went light on her sentence, on account she’s very attractive
Spider Man says
Totally agree. Attractiveness is a HUGE gift to have in life, with so many benefits for those lucky enough to have that gift.
Ugly says
Seriously…. looks probably made the judge feel sorry for her that why the small sentence. She’ll be protected by correction officers who want to nail her…. mean time the 6 babies cry for their mother every day. Sounds like poor system judgement. Wait until the prisoner get a hold of her when she isn’t being raped by officers.
Laughing says
She ain’t that good looking. A nice 7 or so with makeup.
Mother of Twins too says
NO Way is that a proper jail sentence. Katie was an awesome lady and even better mom.
This girl that hit hear and killed her will have the rest of her life to live and yes live with what
she has done to a family.. God rest Katie and look over her babies and husband.
Grams says
Not enough jail time, not fair!
AV supporter says
from all the other drunk driving cases on here and not to compare her case to the rest of them but she didn’t get no time compared to everybody else
Irena says
Lots of factors could be involved. The fact that she plead no contest is a big one. Usually people will do that to receive a reduced sentence. Also, if this was her first DUI, that might have taken into consideration.
Drunk drivers suck says
Good, stupid girl needs a hard lesson. Poor kids left without their mom. She deserves more than 10 for sure.
