Suspects barricaded inside Palmdale home surrender, ending eight-hour standoff

by The AV Times Staff • March 11, 2018

PALMDALE – A man and a woman holed up inside a Palmdale home after fleeing a traffic stop surrendered to authorities early Saturday morning, ending a standoff that lasted more than eight hours.

It all began around 7:50 p.m. Friday, March 9, when a 39-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman fled the scene of traffic stop in the 38000 block of 15th Street and ran into a nearby residence, said a lieutenant at the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Palmdale station.

Deputies found narcotics and a stolen handgun inside the vehicle and later determined that one of the suspects was a local gang member on probation, the lieutenant said, adding that the suspects entered a home where the occupants may have been held against their will.

A sheriff’s crisis negotiations team was able to contact the pair through their cell phones and they surrendered at about 4:30 a.m. Saturday, March 10, he said.

I agree, all criminals should be deported. But to what landmass? Australia turned out all right but I do not know of any other areas that do not have large governments already in place. OH! How about Antarctica! With global weather patterns shifting that should be free of ice in a few more years.

A gang member with a gun & dope on probation, we are all shocked(NOT). Running from the cops, take hostages and barricade is plan B (enroute to self-termination). Anyone killed would fall under the felony murder rule for the surviving criminal but someone must have figured that life was a better option. they chose plan A (due process a day in court).

What a shock! The suspect was a local gang member on probation. Nothing new here.
