PALMDALE – The city of Palmdale is seeking musicians, dancers, spoken word artists, comedians, and other acoustic entertainers to audition to perform on the Mosaic Stage at the second annual Kaleidoscope Music & Art Festival, coming to the Palmdale Amphitheater on Saturday, Oct. 14.

“If you’ve got talent, then come out and audition,” stated Palmdale’s Recreation Supervisor Annie Pagliaro. “Kaleidoscope Music & Art Festival is a unique event dedicated to the arts, both visual and performing, and the Mosaic Stage provides an opportunity for performing artists to share their talent.”

Auditions will take place from 12 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, in the rehearsal classrooms at the Palmdale Playhouse, located at 38334 10th Street East in Palmdale. They will be held on a first come, first serve basis.

Auditions will be “unplugged” style audio in an intimate setting. Performers must fill out an application on site, and submit a photo/headshot and bio.

A photographer will be on site to provide photos free of charge to those performers who do not have one.  Only performers will be allowed at the auditions.

For more information or questions about the auditions, call 661-267-5611.

Fresh Made Market vendors sought

City officials are also inviting vendors who specialize in culinary and apothecary craftsmanship to participate in the Fresh Made Market as part of the Kaleidoscope Music & Art Festival.

“The Fresh Made Market at Kaleidoscope is perfect for cottage industry and farmers market vendors who specialize in handmade candles, home scent products, skin and body care products, baked and canned goods, salsas, pestos, sauces, and other traditional farmer’s market products,” stated Palmdale Recreation Supervisor Annie Pagliaro.
Interested vendors are encouraged to apply for a booth by downloading an application at www.PalmdaleAmphitheater.com [or click here],  and returning it by Sept. 1 to:

I’m thinking of doing a standup routine of nothing but lawyer jokes. I’ll get a white wig, fake white beard, a fancy suit, and have a cardboard ambulance hanging from my chest with straps.

      I’d applaud for that.
