PALMDALE – A groundbreaking ceremony was held Wednesday for the Courson West project in Palmdale.

Located at 939 East Avenue Q-12, the  Courson Arts Colony West (CACWest) is the second phase of a two-phase development known as the Courson Arts Colony. Phase I, Courson Arts Colony East, broke ground in March 2017.

The project is a livable, interconnected new construction arts-oriented community of 81 apartment units in two buildings targeting single adults and families with incomes between 23.4 to 50 percent of the area median income, with a focus on low-income and homeless veterans.

CACWest will be designed to provide a safe environment with amenities appropriate for large families.

The project will consist of two modern three-story buildings, plus a stand-alone arts gallery, an art walk, classrooms, small amphitheater and construction of a new pool at Courson Park.

The project’s development team is led by the Meta Housing Corporation.

Tim Scott, you gotta join Antelope Valley Voice today if you want to know who all the crazies are!

t’s run by SJ Granai, self-described “journalist” who sees conspiracies everywhere. Check posts by Angel Sanchez, who asked “Is Muslim a race?” (LOL). William Henderson/Sir William Henderson/Willie Henderson (or any multitude of fake FB accounts he holds) who calls Kamal al-Khatib “Kabob.” Enough said. Deb Dunham, former WUSD teacher, who asked if Guidance Charter teaches “Muslim as a language” — wow! Lancaster Planning Commissioner Randy Hall who constantly pokes his nose in Palmdale (doesn’t he have enough to do with the “fabulous” crime-ridden, overrun by homeless BLVD?).

And Steve Hofbauer’s comments to his aforementioned buddies — you can tell a lot about a man by the company he keeps.

Yeah…so they are a facebook group? Not really my speed. Facebook groups tend to be small crowd echo chambers…and based on what I here I’d be banned pretty much immediately anyway.

This is no ordinary Facegroup group. It is a collection of white supremacists, racists, ex-cons, ignorant teachers, self-serving politicians, low IQ people, slanderers, and wannabes. You would drive them insane. Yes, they would block you and further prove that they, the candidates they support, and their ilk, are what is wrong with the works today.

Let us know how it works out for you. We’ll be waiting for your report back.

Well, they never approved me to join, which I guess saved them the effort of kicking me out. I did join some other group called “AV Forum and Discussion” that was hilarious. Two shills pitching hatchet pieces back and forth, with a membership of a few hundred inactive members. I was kicked out in a matter of hours, after being encouraged to quit commenting but stay a member because they are very excited about their membership number.

Piano Banger? Yeah, maybe. Mostly the wannabe journalist from down below seemed to believe he was the big fish. When she got outsmarted she shut down. When he got outsmarted he deleted whatever had made him look foolish and tried again…until it was obvious that no amount of retries were going to help him, at which point he banned me.

          @David

I’m surprised they didn’t use the words LIBERTY, FREEDOM, AMERICA, PATRIOT in the name or any of the other familiar words misused by right wingers to hide behind.

            July 31, 2017 at 4:20 pm

They have more Confederate flags on their profiles than American flags. To them LIBERTY is living without people they call Kabob. FREEDOM is being able to spew lies and libel about events and people they know nothing about. AMERICA is the South rising again. PATRIOT is defending the principles of the Confederacy.

The fact that they have teachers and politicians following them is disturbing.

            @David

Boy. You nailed the definitions of those above words perfectly as used and abused by the right.

Remember when the IRS was looking into all those newly formed tax-exempt organizations during President Obama’s years for engaging in political activities? All they were doing was filtering organizations with those and other similar words for their partisan political missions. A 5th grader coulda looked for them using those words

And, the right had a fit. According to the law passed and ignored by the IRS, they weren’t supposed to do any political activity and not just less than 50%. That was the real scandal.

But, you know the right. They live in the ‘alternative facts’ universe where trump had the biggest crowds at his inaugural EVER!

A teacher thought that Muslim was a language?
      …
      Wow. Wow. Wow.
      ….
You’d expect that to come from someone who barely made it through high school, has a criminal record, and is barely employable. But a teacher thinking the Muslim is a language?

Most of the teachers I know are smart and sensible. None of them belong to the Antelope Valley Voice.

Like I said, they are smart and sensible.

The Antelope Valley Voice isn’t run by or frequented by the brightest bulbs in the candelabra. Occasionally, a voice of reason will correct one of the many lies or innuendos, but for the most part, it is a poor reflection on the Valley as a whole.

As a business owner, one can only hope that no one outside the Valley is reading it. It would be detrimental to new investment.

Palmdale Mayor, Jim Ledford, was being arraigned in a LA Courtroom during this ceremony…lol

No, he wasn’t. For some reason after all the drama the prosecution needs another few months to get organized. Another Wrecks Parris production.

Please do your homework! His arraignment has been postponed until Oct. 19, 2017. Use your shield of faith, James Ledford, to fend off the fiery wicked darts of the evil one.

There are so many people that love James Ledford, including myself. There are many in the A.V. praying for James Ledford, a kind and honorable man.

If he is guilty, it will come out in a court of law. Until then, he is afforded the rights that we all are, and that is innocent until proven guilty. I know that doesn’t resonate with Rex, DUI Drew, Austin Bishop, Steve Hoffbauer, Randy Hall and their lackeys at the AV Voice, but it is how the legitimate legal system works.

For your AV Voice people, legitimate means conforming to laws or rules. It doesn’t mean believe whatever comes out of Rex’s mouth.

what kind of income are we talking about? what do they consider low income?

    • Tim Scott says

      July 26, 2017 at 8:27 pm

I asked that once. If I recall correctly, previous programs (at least one of them) used 30% of the median income for the area. But again, if you want a real answer call the Neighborhood Services Departrment.
