Palmdale seeking applicants for marijuana ad hoc committee

by The AV Times Staff • July 20, 2017

(File)

PALMDALE – The city of Palmdale is accepting applications for individuals who are interested in serving on an ad hoc committee to make recommendations to the City Council regarding the Adult Use of Marijuana Act (AUMA) in Palmdale.

The AUMA is a California voter initiative which passed in Nov. 2016 that would protect and expand upon medical marijuana access in the state and legalize and control non-medical adult cultivation, use and sales.

The AUMA ad hoc committee will consist of 11 participants.  All viewpoints on the subject of marijuana regulation are encouraged.

Interested persons should complete the online application at www.cityofpalmdale.org by Monday, July 31, at 6 p.m.

For more information, call or email Anne Ambrose at 661-267-5115 or email aambrose@cityofpalmdale.org.

Everything just needs to be moderated and regulated appropriately so that our public officials can give and provide what their constituents need in long term, instead of what they want immediately with no progress for their next generation. if it is gonna be taxed the funds need to provide some better resources for knowledge on the topic and progress in the community.

Well, let’s see. If the sale, use and cultivation will be legal in California, marijuana will be all around us whether or not a particular city wants to allow it.

So, Palmdale would be wise to make sure it is properly regulated within in the city since people will buy it elsewhere and bring it home anyway. Might as well reap the tax money instead of sending it out of town.

Of course, wrecks will want to share Palmdale’s tax revenue from the sales even if he doesn’t want to allow sales there. Sounds like something he’d do.

Rex and Marv should apply. They have more experience with pot than anyone else in the area.

Look at Rex’s eyes. He’s not there half the time. But he plays his Christian card for votes. What a work of art he is.

I would love to volunteer, but it would get out that I use marijuana medicinally and I would get fired. That just sucks.
