Man arrested in Lancaster for fatal Long Beach shooting

by City News Service • May 30, 2017

LONG BEACH – A Compton man is in custody on suspicion of fatally shooting a woman at a motel in Long Beach last month.

Terry Moore, 29, was arrested Wednesday in Lancaster and booked on suspicion of murder in the April 21 killing of Lanette Washington, 32, of Victorville, the Long Beach Police Department reported.

Moore is being held without bail, police said.

The crime occurred at a motel in the 5900 block of Long Beach Boulevard, police said. Officers who arrived about 10 a.m., April 21, found the wounded victim in a room, and she was taken to a hospital, where she died.

Officers searched the area but did not find the suspect. The investigation led to Moore’s arrest on Wednesday, May 24, in Lancaster, police said.
