Help Palmdale detectives catch suspected Walmart thieves

PALMDALE — Local detectives are seeking the public’s help in locating two suspects wanted in a theft at a West Palmdale Walmart.

The theft occurred about 9:50 p.m. Friday, Feb. 24, at the store at 40130 10th Street West, according to a news release from the Palmdale Sheriff’s Station.

The man pictured above entered the store with a woman, loaded up a shopping cart with miscellaneous bedding items, and proceeded to checkout, sheriff’s officials said.

“The suspects used the self-checkout register, only paying for half of the items in the cart.  Once the transaction was complete, the suspects wheeled the shopping cart out of the store with the unpaid items,” the news release states.

One suspect [pictured above] was described as a black man in his 20s wearing a gray sweater, a gray beanie and black pants.

The second suspect [not shown] was described as a black woman in her 20s wearing a green jacket with a pink shirt.

Anyone with information on the identity or location of these suspects is encouraged to contact Detective Halvorsen at 661-272-2479.

  1. Seriously, reading these comments posted here makes me as a higher tax payer want to move and it would have nothing to do with skin color…have you people read you disrespectful comments? You type ghetto because you are just as ghetto as those you are accusing. I mean wow…..I cannot wait for the genetic line that creates this kind of racism to DIE off…It seems NONE of these comments help police in finding the people who are accused of stealing.

    Its not about race until the person is not white….I noticed that on these blogs. I don’t see the same comments when the person in question is Caucasian…The AV has been known for years for these types who mistake the state of California for being Alabama. I have had more issues with white meth houses than I have with black people or Hispanic people…also this area has just as many white people on welfare and disability. So I am not understanding all the racially motivated comments here—-what a bunch of trolls.

  7. The reporter failed to report how anyone knew he stole some of the merchandise. Also I believe customers do not have to stop and show their receipt. Stopping a customer for this akin to violationg the 4th amendment. Free movement for all.

    • The 4th amendment only applies to government searches and seizures, not private establishments. There is something called the shopkeeper’s privilege laws however that does allow it under certain circumstances.

      Asking for a receipt is not unreasonable nor does it violate a person’s 4th amendment rights.

  9. The employee that was watching the self check out and the one at the exit who checks receipts have some explaining to do. It was most likely not busy at that time either.

    • I’ve seen people fully ignore the receipt checker and run right passed him. I was in self checkout with one item and the lady in front of me refused to give him her receipt to the man and kept walking out the door. I stood behind her and waited for him to check mine and he then tried to radio for help. With one person at each door and 10+ checkout lines, some people done wait or try to slip past the receipt guy. They need a better system with more reciept checkers! This town is a cesspool of bottom feeders.

      • Speaking of “keep walking out the door,” if you don’t like it here you could just leave. All of you whiners that want to babble about “cesspools of bottom feeders” or whatever your baseless mischaracterization for the day is could just go find somewhere else to live and not be missed.         If you miss the days when this was nothing more than a wide spot on a desert road to nowhere then get on up the road. Whatever it is that you think you miss from that “golden age,” be it having no neighbors to notice when you had sexy time with your sheep, or having “it’s just to far” as a built in excuse for never getting off your lazy butt and doing anything, or the bizarre novelty of seeing budding rodeo clowns lasso trash cans in the quad of the high school surely there is a place for you if you just get going.

          Remind them that republicans have been running the Antelope Valley for decades: the Runners, Parris, Knight (pere et fils), Lackey (appropriately named) and so on.

          I left out Mayor Jim Ledford. He’s not one of them and they don’t like him anyway. He’s too good for the gop but I digress.

          But, it’s always someone else’s fault according to them and their like-minded sheep.

It’s the republicans tagging your buildings, putting their non English speaking kids into the classrooms, welcoming all the illegals, homeless, and section 8 people into your neighborhoods.

            The AV times is peppered with articles of parolees, probationers, dopers, murderers RIGHT NOW making life miserable for your citizens. It can’t be their fault. You can’t hold them accountable or those who want more of them in your AV accountable.

          • Foolco, the only miserable people posting here are the goof balls like you. Twenty murders a year in a city of a hundred and fifty thousand doesn’t make me miserable, because the odds are that it won’t affect me in any way. I feel for the people who are affected, especially in the extremely rare case that it is some sort of random event that catches someone who is really just passing along…but that is an extremely rare event. Stay away from illegal enterprises that have to handle their own security and you are very unlikely to get involved in violent crime.

            On the other hand, living in a city that is in fact full of stuck up prigs like you would be hard to stomach, so I have no interest in living in Santa Clarita. A city full of people all seeing who can keep their nose turned up higher than their neighbors is just a constant drain on life. So you just run along now and tell some people who might be impressed how wonderful you are. You aren’t finding any here.

            Of course, they made big bucks and sold out everyone else. rex parris welcomed Section 8 voucher holders to fill up the empty foreclosed houses in Lancaster. Blame him for some of the ‘immigration’ from down below. You do the opposite.

            Why does everything have to be explained to you? Were you in a coma. The Antelope Valley has over half a million residents. Do you expect the number of crimes to be the same as in 1960 or what?

            The ‘good ol’ boys’ are republicans and so are the developers. Look at Lancaster to see how well a conservative Christian city is being run. Poorly. But, you blame people with no political power or money for everything. Typical.

          • Antelope Valley Republicans like Parris, Crist, Mann, Hofbauer, Mahli, Mercy, etc. are in bed with IBEW. That is so odd since Republican spend half their time bashing unions. Here in the Antelope Valley where critical thinking is a luxury, the sheep go along with what Parris tells them to do regardless of the results. In this case the results have been good for Parris and his friend’s wallets, but bad for workers. Case in point is the Kinkisharo manufacturing plant that was killed by IBEW operative Kathy ‘Job Killer’ MacLauren, who is best buds with Parris.

            Right you are. People like Falco blame the poor and homeless for everything But, who put the homeless services on the blvd? Then, rex complained that over 70 homeless people arrive every day at the end of the line Metrolink station in Lancaster. Truly, Lancaster IS the end of the line.

            parris said he welcomed Section 8 voucher holders to fill up the abandoned and foreclosed houses in Lancaster after the republican Great Recession of 2008-9. Who do ya think owns those big, 4-5 bedroom, 3,000 sq.ft. homes that have been listed ‘Section 8 OK’ in the Valley Press real estate rental sections? republicans.

            Notice that the republicans have done very well for themselves in the Antelope Valley through thick and thin while everyone else gets skrewed royally.

            parris and trump were separated at birth. They have almost identical pathologies such as name calling of other leaders, accusing/blames others for their problems, plus size egos, thinking of themselves before others (sociopaths) and so on.
            Google ‘hypocrite’ and it pulls up ‘republican’.
