Man shot to death in Lancaster

by The AV Times Staff • February 13, 2017

LANCASTER – A man found shot in the chest in a Lancaster alley Sunday night was pronounced dead at the hospital, authorities said.

The shooting was reported around 9:49 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 12, on the 45300 block of 10th Street West, according to a news release from the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.

“Detectives have learned that Lancaster Station deputies responded to the location regarding a ‘gunshot victim’ call,” the news release states.

“When deputies arrived, they found the victim, male Hispanic, 33 years old, in an alley behind the location, suffering from a single gunshot wound to the chest,” the news release states.

The victim was treated by paramedics and then transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to the news release.

The victim’s name has not yet been released pending next of kin notification, coroner’s officials said Monday afternoon.

“Several witnesses have been contacted, however, they were unable to provide a suspect description,” the sheriff’s news release states.

No further information was available Monday afternoon.

Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to contact the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau at 323-890-5500.

have lived here for 30 years. Have voted for Rex but am now feeling things in this valley are out of control No amount of police seem to help. People of little character just walking through neighborhoods looking for something to steal or damage. Seriously thinking of having wife retire early and vacating this once nice community.

Maybe if instead of wasting $10 million dollars on the useless Eye in the Sky and using that money for law enforcement and prevention, it would help. Palmdale and Santa Clarita don’t have the Eye in the Sky. What they do have is lower crime.

The Eye in the Sky is nothing more than a political payback for one of Rex’s contributors. He makes money. We suffer.

Yeah. what Constitution? What Bill of rights. Maybe no one is coming forward because they are scared. Maybe an offer of some police protection would help.

You need to grow a pair and stop living in a fragile bubble.

Living by false narratives has consequences. I feel sorry for your kids, but maybe they will overcome the unreasoning fear you are instilling in them.

Other than you wanting to say something snotty when you see my name, can you explain how this post relates here?

The false narrative that the crime rate is “so high and out of control” has apparently left this person believing they “can’t take their kids out.” Clearly, living by that false narrative has consequences.

I do feel sorry for the kids. No kid should be trapped at home because they have a delusional parent.

They almost certainly will take on the unrealistic fears they see demonstrated by that parent, but hopefully will have a chance to realize that the world is not the same as their paranoid parent sees it.

Very sad. Hope they find this killer on the loose. Arm yourselves and protect your family. There’s crazies and Carless people taking lives and they’re not taking mine. Condolences to the victims family.

Several witnesses n not one can give a description of the suspect bs they just don’t want to get involved .. they need to make a new law if ur a witness n saw everything n don’t say a word u will be charged as well for the crime … how would they feel if it was there family member that got shot n died n no one would give any details they need to think about that may God rest his soul n prayers for the families involved n I pray that the suspect has a heart n turns them self in n may the family find it in there hearts to forgive this world really needs God

“Several witnesses contacted” may very well mean that lots of people heard a gunshot. Chances that they mean “several people were out in the alley at the time” are really slim.

Your theory is a violation of the constitution, and civil rights, but from the past few years who cares anymore. Its just an old piece of paper people think.
