Community invited to AVH tree lighting

by The AV Times Staff • November 29, 2016

lightingLANCASTER – Antelope Valley Hospital will celebrate the holiday season with a tree-lighting ceremony this Thursday, and the community is invited.

The ceremony will take place from 5 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, near the front entrance to the hospital, located at 1600 West Avenue J in Lancaster.

To prepare for this annual event, the hospital’s engineering department is decorating the tree with more than 2,000 lights and 100 decorations.

Festivities will include a handbell choir, a visit from Santa, telling of the AVH Christmas tree story, lighting of the tree, and refreshments.

The AV Hospital Christmas tree was planted near the front entrance more than 20 years ago to honor the memory of a young patient.
