A military veteran is someone who has served or is still serving in one of the main branches in the armed forces. While many veterans served as combat officers, there are several other positions that had to be filled, including trained medical professionals, mechanics and chefs along with many others.

There are several ways to show our gratitude and thankfulness to the men and women that serve or have served our country. One of the easiest is to simply shake hands and say thank you, to our veterans, for their service. Others are to make donations to your local VA, volunteer with local VA hospitals, always display the American flag, and say the pledge of allegiance with pride.

As a nation we should support our veterans because they made the choice to dedicate years of their lives and time away from their families to bravely defend our country and make it a safe place to live.

Shouldn’t Mexico recognize the contributions of its citizens?

The USA rarely recognizes contributions from many nations. We train them, we train with them, we all do our part during combat. After the battle each nation honors its own.
Where the US has failed its own citizens of various ethnicity it is slowly making up for it. Thank you to all of our veterans.

BTW – thank you for the brief history look up. I did not know Mexico fought in the islands during WW2.
