PALMDALE – Homicide detectives are investigating the death of a 27-year-old Lancaster man who was found unresponsive in the living room of a Palmdale home Tuesday night.
“Shortly after 8 o’clock, Palmdale Sheriff’s Station received a call of a person screaming here at 37306 [28th Street East],” said sheriff’s homicide Sgt. Marcelo Quintero. “Deputies responded and they found a person unresponsive in the living room suffering from some sort of injury to the head.”
“That person was subsequently transported to Antelope Valley Hospital where he was pronounced dead,” Quintero added.
Louis Dennard Campbell III, 27, of Lancaster, was pronounced dead at the hospital at 8:54 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 1, according to coroner’s Assistant Chief Ed Winter.
Campbell’s cause of death is pending an autopsy, Winter said.
“I have it reported as a gunshot wound to the head, but they haven’t done the full autopsy yet,” Winter added.
No arrests were reported in connection with the incident.
“Obviously if it turns out that he was either shot or injured in any other way, we will conduct an investigation as to who is responsible; but at this point our first objective is to find out how this person received this injury… what is it that happened,” Sgt. Quintero said.
