LANCASTER – A man who pleaded no contest in connection with a 14-year-old girl’s shooting death at a party in Lancaster in 2010 was sentenced Friday to 11 years in state prison.

Aaron Eugene Wallace, 26, of Lancaster, pleaded no contest to voluntary manslaughter for the Sept. 5, 2010, killing of Dominique Peatry, who was gunned down at a party near Nugent Street and Sixth Street East.

Six other Antelope Valley residents — who were between 13 and 26 — were wounded in the shooting, authorities said.

Authorities believe that Wallace was shooting in the air, but don’t believe he was the person who shot into the crowd and struck the teenager, according to Deputy District Attorney Jonathan Chung.

After Wallace was arrested in March 2011, authorities said they were still searching for another suspect.

No one else has been charged in connection with the crime, the prosecutor said.

i find it very confusing when you have certain people talking about “hes a snitch” that’s why he got 11 years, then at the bottle of the page you have people talking about why don’t you just give up the person who did it. So if we as a black community cant get on board with a simple snitch or don’t snitch we will never come together, regardless of how much time he has or doesn’t, a child, a young girls life was taken ALSO a young man who made a dumb mistake costing him his freedom. I think we need to toss the “snitch rule” out the window and come together for justice in the black community period. We need to learn that “snitching” is not a bad thing, that if we come together as one justice can be served through out the community putting those accountable for there action. I to known of this young man, i went to high school with him and it would have never cross my mind he would do such a thing. but in high school he was always counted out and never acknowledge. so the group that you wanted to fit in with never allowed you to converse with them, you fall in the group that expects everyone “gangs”. allowing anyone and anything to join. I am deeply sadden that a young girls life was taken but we also have to think about the future were the justice system serve no propose for the black man our “brothers, fathers, nephews, cousins, uncles & grandfathers” so instead of beating him down we should be uplifting him with prayer that he does wanna make the right choice to tell on the actual killer.

The AV Judge said, “he did not make a mistake, he made a choice. For the record, he did tell on the other person.

I wonder how much time he would have to serve if he had killed the child of a cop or a politician. Eleven years? What a joke.

He snitched after they threw 60 years at him but he will have to answer for his actions but he will get his hat handed to him its not over not by a long shot, The DA never fougt for us never the DA wasn’t on our side, so the DA protected him so he won’t get killed in jail

THE DAY OF SENTENCING, IF SOMEONE IN THE COURT ROOM SAID HE MADE A MISTAKE AND THE JUDGE SAID, THIS ACT WAS NOT A MISTAKE, IT WAS A CHOICE HE MADE, THAT SHOULD TELL YOU WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW.

Someone’s life is worth only 11 years? What a joke our legal system is!

so this guy, thought he was a badass with a gun.. and even IF he only shot in the air, he deserves the time he got… dont bring a gun to a party moron! he clearly planned to show off that he had a gun.. screw him.. tired of people who use a gun to feel powerful and good about themselves… and to make others fear them.. enjoy your prison term you Ahole.

This is my home girl niece i just think that the guy is lucky for the 11 years giving pleading no contest to doms murder on the fact he was there and dont want to say anythinghe knws more and who did it so he goes out the crowd way to us but to the streets as the man becuzz he didnt snitch.

Sounds like an application of causal action. If he had not fired into the air, a very stupid thing to do anyway, then the other person may not have shot into the crowd. Does sound like there is a lot missing while they continue investigating.

I know this case well. The DA knows who shot into the crowd but hasn’t charged him, why? They have the witnesses they need to pursue charges, why don’ they?. Aaron did not deserve 11 years, 3 tops. Cops have to show a clearance and don’t care if the wrong guy goes to jail (for manslaughter) when the evidence doesn’t support the charge, while the REAL shooter gets off. The press should ask the DA if he knows who the shooter is and if he lies I’ll tell them and give them a BIG story.

So if you know so much why dont you just DO THE RIGHT THING and tell? But instead you hide behind a screen and bump your gums and say IF he doesn’t tell THEN I will. This family deserves justice and the POS COWARDS (ALL of them included this a**hole) deserve the DEATH PENALTY. They aint nothing but wasted space.

      September 25, 2016 at 5:33 pm

I totally agree with you, if that is the case. BIG DIFFERENCE between firing into the air and the other. His life is ruined because of the DA

      • Y'all are crazy says

        September 26, 2016 at 7:44 am

NO his life is ruined because of HIMSELF!! HE choose to fire a gun. Just like he choose to hang around the same type of idiot he is… It does NOT matter that it was in the air. Everyone was in danger then as well. What goes up must come down. He actually didn’t get enough time

  12. Mike Barry says

    September 24, 2016 at 3:45 pm

The fact is he did shoot a gun into the air. They “don’t believe he is the one that shot the girl”

  13. Mrs. Hulgan, D's teacher says

    September 24, 2016 at 1:53 pm

I agree with Jeremy. Shoot a gun, especially near people, go to jail. Remember, the gun wasn’t the problem. The guy behind the weapon was. I think he got a good deal, too. Maybe they can shorten his sentence if he gives up Dominique’s killer. She, and her family, deserve justice. This crime was so unnecessary. It’s sad that her killer is still out there but God knows where he is. Let’s pray the murderer is found soon.

  15. Angel says

    September 24, 2016 at 11:49 am

Well that’s his fault, he shouldn’t have been there with a gun anyways and he won’t tell who actually shot her and I’m sure he knows.! Hopefully he rots in there the way his friends that did kill her should have.

THIS YOUNG MAN GOT RAILROADED!! THIS IS ABSOLUTELY WRONG. YOU KNOW HE HAD A PUBLIC DEFENDER WHO DIDN’T DO THEIR JOB OR REPRESENT THE YOUNG MAN AT ALL. THIS IS THE SO CALLED JUSTICE SYSTEM AT WORK. YEAH, A MALFUNCTIONING JUSTICE SYSTEM.

    • DOMO says

      September 25, 2016 at 11:03 pm

This person was not railroaded, don’t believe everything you read, he took a plead deal.

    • Tina says

      September 26, 2016 at 8:09 pm

Check the facts, you don’t know what you’re talking about, he had a well paid attorney and DA who took very good care of him. You forget, a young girl was shot and killed and all you can say is he was railroaded, you’re wrong.

I truly hope that they find the actual person whom is responsible for her death so that the family can really be at peace to know justice was actually served. I feel sorry for both families and the pain they have to endured through this process.

I’m thinking he plead out and took a deal or something. Most people in the AV usually do because they’re scared or tired of being in jail

      • Jen says

        September 24, 2016 at 6:49 am

Yeah, he probably didn’t want to take it to trial so they scared him into a deal. Happens all the time. Being in County Jail sux. He will get to Prison and be home in 5 years. He has already done 6 years. It’s really dumb that he took a deal though when they admit there was another shooter who they believe is the one who shot the girl. He could’ve got off.

        • John says

          September 24, 2016 at 7:25 am

Hes been in forn5 years already, county time counts 2 days to 1. He took the deal because he will be released within the next 6 months

        • Jeremy Ewing says

          September 24, 2016 at 9:18 am

When ever u commit a crime while someone get killed automatically you are part of the murder it’s the law he actually got a deal

        • Sky says

          September 24, 2016 at 9:19 am

Actually the facts remain that he is not the actual shooter, DA said….. And more than likely he plead out. They were not going to give him life a murder he didn’t commit. But he won’t do the whole 11 years. More like 85% of the 11 years. Due to the factbthat it is a violent crime. So he would do 9 and a half years before he actually released.

          • Sky says

            September 24, 2016 at 9:28 am

And just because he was a part of the incident. The fact remains he was not the actual shooter. The incident itself was uncalled for. And my condolence goes out to all the families involved. But after reading the article and everyone’s opinions on the matter. I felt that people should understand how the bs law system works in Lancaster. I’ve seen another article some years back, where a women stabbed her boyfriend to death. And she was only sentenced 16 years. But I’ve seen other articles where men have committed crimes less than murder. But they get life. But what I understood about this incident is that he did in fact took a deal. And a lesser charge.

            September 26, 2016 at 4:08 pm

The fact is he knows who did it, and him not telling the DA who did is why he is also getting the stiffer penalty.
