Open auditions Saturday for The Nutcracker Story

the-nutcracker-storyPALMDALE – The Palmdale Playhouse will hold open auditions this Saturday, Sept. 24, for the upcoming ballet The Nutcracker Story.

Auditions will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Playhouse, located at 38334 10th Street East in Palmdale.

The Palmdale Junior Ballet will present an abridged version of the holiday classic that features the Sugar Plum Fairy, the Nutcracker Prince and all the favorite Nutcracker characters.

Auditions are open to dancers, actors and gymnasts ages 6 to adult. Previous dance or stage experience is desirable but not necessary.

Audition times are: 10 to 11 a.m. for ages 6-9; 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. for ages 10-12; and 12 to 1 p.m. for ages 13 and above.

Interested persons who cannot attend the Sept. 24 date should call 661-267-5684 to schedule an audition by appointment only for Tuesday, Sept. 27.

Performances of The Nutcracker Story will be held at the Palmdale Playhouse on Sunday, Dec. 4, at 2 and 7 p.m. Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for seniors, students, military and youth 12 and under.
