“Music in the Park” tonight at Poncitlán Square

Free music in the parkPALMDALE – Lorena Mackey & The Hi-Lites will take the gazebo stage at Poncitlán Square this evening [July 7] for the first of Palmdale’s six “Music in the Park” events this summer.

The free event will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at 9th Street East, between Avenue Q-9 and Avenue Q-10 in Palmdale.

Attendees are encouraged to bring a blanket or lawn chair to sit on. There will be no food or activities on site during the concert, but attendees may bring food and non-alcoholic beverages.

“Come hear the sounds of this awesome band and enjoy the atmosphere of Poncitlán Square,” said Communications Manager John Mlynar. “Lorena Mackey & the Hi-Lites have been performing classic R&B hit music for nearly two decades.”

The musical lineup for future “Music in the Park” events includes:

  • Runaway – Country – July 21
  • Tesserae – R&B – Aug. 4
  • CopperHill – Rock & roll variety – Aug. 18
  • Boulevard Knights – Latin rock – Sept. 1
  • Jimmy Long – Pop, folk and alternative music – Sept. 15
