LANCASTER – Local gang detectives arrested two teenagers early Wednesday morning for their alleged involvement in a shooting that left two men wounded after a Lancaster party in March.
The crime happened around 11 p.m. Saturday, March 26, at a party in the 43600 block of Emile Zola Avenue in Lancaster, according to a news release by the Lancaster Sheriff’s Station.
“Lancaster Station deputies and Operation Safe Streets both responded to the scene where the two victims had been shot numerous times as they were leaving [the party],” the news release states.
The victims, Giovanni Trejo and Danny Farias, were transported to Antelope Valley Hospital where they were treated for numerous gunshot wounds, according to the news release.
“A suspect, Ruben “Risky” Lemos, and a male juvenile Hispanic were identified as two of the participants of the crime,” the news release states. “The 15-year-old male juvenile was identified as the shooter.”
Both suspects were arrested early Wednesday morning after Operation Safe Streets detectives, Lancaster Station deputies and the Los Angeles County Sheriff Department’s Special Enforcement Bureau carried out search warrants related to the crime.
Lemos, 18, is being held in lieu of $2 million bail. Further information on the juvenile suspect was not immediately available.
The suspects are scheduled to be arraigned Friday on charges related to the shooting.
