ACTON – A motorcyclist was killed, and the other driver, a Palmdale man, was arrested on suspicion of DUI and hit and run following a crash in Acton Saturday evening, authorities said.

The fatal crash happened on Soledad Canyon Road west of Aliso Canyon Road at 5:45 p.m. Saturday, May 7, according to a California Highway Patrol report.

The motorcyclist was riding a 2012 Harley Davidson westbound on Soledad Canyon when he crossed into the eastbound lane, directly into the path of an eastbound 2015 GMC Sierra, driven by 56-year-old Bradly Russell Mcleod of Palmdale, the CHP report states.

The vehicles collided, and the motorcyclist was thrown from his bike and later pronounced dead at the scene.

Mcleod fled the scene but his damaged vehicle broke down about a half-mile away, according to the CHP report.

Mcleod was detained and “later arrested on suspicion of DUI and hit and run,” the CHP report states.

He was booked Saturday at the Lancaster Sheriff’s Station jail on $50,000 bail and released Sunday morning, according to LASD inmate records.

Did that Doctor that ran into the back of a car on the 14 freeway in Palmdale ever get arrested just wondering I’ve been seeing a lot of drivers in car accidents get taken to jail but that doctor didn’t and witnesses said it was his fault.

He was not drinking and rear ended a small car stopped in a traffic lane, nearby fireworks were slowing traffic due to rubbernecking. Sometimes it’s just an accident.

Just a theory. Motorcyclist went to other lane when he saw drunk truck in his lane, drunk truck switched back and they met half way in the switch back. Again just a theory.

Built in dash cam might have provided answers if manufacturers gave a care beyond bottom dollars.

Seriously, the motorcyclist probably caused his own accident and the other guy is going to prison for so called “DUI”. This ain’t a DUI accident it’s trumped up manipulated statistics and exaggeration.

It’s not clear at all why the biker went into the other lane.

There is no mention of witnesses.

I had to dodge a drunk driver once. To avoid hitting the drunk driver I had to cross
    a double yellow line.

It is possible that the motorcyclist was trying to dodge an erratic drunk driver.

“sometimes just cause your over the stupid .08 limit don’t mean your impaired”
I beg to differ. Your comment shows you have not learned from your mistakes and continue to be a threat on the roads.

I wonder how this is legally gonna go down. It’s clear that the man driving the Ford was not at fault, but he was allegedly DUI. I had a wreck years ago that I was suppose to be party 1 but the guy who hit me was DUI and had no license. Guess who got dinged for the whole thing

Ummmmm from what I read the motorcycle drifted into the trucks lane? So was the motorcycle drunk? I’m jst saying drunk driving is wrong having had a DUI myself….but sometimes just cause your over the stupid .08 limit don’t mean your impaired and other people like this moto dude clearly caused the crash. This guy was arrested on suspicion….after the article clearly states the motorcycle ran into him lol. How do we the. Put this guy at faulty. Sober or not he cnt help if the motorcycle hit him lol

He isnt being arrsted for manslaughter, he got arrested for dui and hit and run. He shldnt have been behind the wheel while Under the influence, and he shouldnt have fled the scene after a person died resulting from ur vechile being in a accident
