by The AV Times Staff • May 2, 2016

PALMDALE – One motorist was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs, and more than a dozen motorists were arrested for license violations at a DUI/driver’s license checkpoint conducted in Palmdale this past weekend, authorities said.

The checkpoint was conducted on 10th Street West at Technology Drive between the hours of 6 p.m. Friday, April 29, and 2 a.m. Saturday, April 30, according to a news release from the Palmdale Sheriff’s Station.

The results of the checkpoint are as follows:

  • 1,480 vehicles were screened at the checkpoint.
  • 1,480 drivers were checked at the checkpoint.
  • One DUI-drug impaired suspect was arrested.
  • One suspect was arrested on “other” criminal charges.
  • One driver was arrested for not having an ignition interlock device.
  • 15 drivers were cited/arrested for operating a vehicle unlicensed or while suspended/revoked.
  • Nine vehicles were released per checkpoint release procedures.

The checkpoint was funded by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Great, they illegally stopped and searched 1400 citizens to catch a single person suspected of being under the influence.

    Worthless waste of taxpayer dollars.

I guess you believe that they actually search cars! I would rather have them stop me, I have nothing to hide, then let a drunk keep on driving. I hope you never get hit by a drunk driver or lose a friend or a loved one to a drunk or impaired driver. Stop being anti-government and be realistic.

Dude it’s more than that. It’s unconstitutional ( I don’t have time to educate you) and if were interested in U.S. laws, you would know that the our country is getting closer and closer; everday of becoming under marshall law.

They ought to follow Xavier home. This so called champion of the children in keeping them safe from alcohol could learn something himself. When someone is as adamantly against something like he is, there’s something going on behind the scenes. Think Jimmy Swaggart when he was preaching against extra marital sex and then come to find out he’s playing with hookers. Larry Craig, Mark Foley, etc.

I walked over to a bar near my home last night for a couple beers. Apparently, some cop had died and they were having a memorial party at this bar. The bar was full of off duty cops. I watched about 15 off duty cops get wasted all night and drive out of the parking lot when the party ended. And they were wasted to be sure. Ain’t America great?

No traffic fatality reports today, so apparently they all made it home alive. Too bad.

Again moderator, Tim Scott now wishes death to Law Enforcement officers…WTF. The majority of the officers do not live in the City that they work in. Yeah that is were most cops have a memorial at a bar…sounds like [removed], just to be relevant and get on the Law Enforcement bash wagon so Tim Scott will think you awesome @HypocrisyRules.

I know the truth hurts peoplescareme, but this bar owner happens to be a cop lover with a section of one wall dedicated to cops with badges hanging and pictures of cops, etc. And yes, they had a memorial get together at a bar for the now deceased cop, complete with a table full of food and old pictures. And yes, I sat there all night watching a bunch of off duty cops get wasted drunk and then drive out of the parking lot when the party ended. Sorry, I don’t need to make up stories to impress Tim Scott. Laws designed to suck the proles bank accounts dry and 2 tiered justice system for the rest.

Awe FU, did I hurt your feelings by calling out cop lovers? Can I offer you a tissue? No, I wasn’t eyeballing a bunch of dudes all night, but I like how YOU projected the homosexual angle into it. They were off duty cops at memorial party for another cop and they got trashed all night and then drove away. Period. The truth is a MF’er ain’t it?

Where is this establishment where these cops were hanging out? A bunch of cops at a bar getting blitzed over the memory of a fallen cop is a nice stereotype right off the TV.

I don’t know of any wakes celebrated in the AV for an officer/deputy and the ones I have known about happen at homes outside of public consumption.

          Keep up, that’s not new.

By the way “wishing death” is not a crime.

Then I “wish ” the same for you sir and I use that title as a joke. You are spiteful know it all.

Hypocrisy you need a life, eyeballing a bunch of dudes, did you search them for I.D. too. Cop lover so f-ing tired of that bull$hit name calling. Get a life.

This bar isn’t in the Antelope Valley because I don’t live in the Antelope Valley any longer (thank god!!!!). I will say it is in LASD territory. I love the apologists coming out of the woodwork attempting to cover the tracks for drunk driving cops when we all know they do it on the regular and cover for each other. Nice try apologists, but FAIL in a big way.

I am not apologizing for any one you dolt. So glad you do not live here.

Finger pointing from a guy who has to walk to a bar, to many DUI’s?

        FAIL….are you 12

LOL…walking to the bar is a way to not get DUIs…for those who don’t have the “I have a badge and can get away with anything” plan to fall back on.

Nice try, you apologist badge licker.

FU, I walk because the bar is one block from my home. Exercise, you should try it sometime. You sound like you really do need a tissue. Are you mad because the truth is painful MF’er for a cop lover such as yourself? And yes, you failed on all fronts. Enjoy A.V.

Just say the city HypRul. Otherwise claim the label of chicken and crow loudly. I mean hey, it is not like any officers at the actual bar, which you could name, actually know you… right.

If these check points were used to round up illegal aliens we wouldn’t have a bunch of illegal rioters throwing rocks and bottles at our law enforcement officers just because they don’t like someone who is running for potus.

illegal is illegal.. what idiot thinks people will obey our laws when they came to this country illegally?

        Mark & Bob,
Please do everyone a huge favor and go hide under your rock. I don’t judge every white person from what I see in Duck Dynasty, neither should you. Your idiot orange running for POTUS will face very difficult odds, I know you wish your Repugnican party had someone with an IQ of 5 or above running for president. Sad times for racist pricks such as….

Mark, you may still call it California, which is what the Spanish conquistadores named this state from the “get-go”, it is a slang for the term “Califia”. But surely you can open a book and do some good ole learnin’ all by yourself without killing your last brain cell.

Both of you are hilarious or pathetic- your choice!
