PALMDALE – The city of Palmdale’s “Ruth & Kery Are Everywhere Contest,” which promotes the new public safety video series “This is How We Roll, Palmdale,” returns for its second year and is offering residents the chance to win free passes to DryTown Water Park.

“We’ll be giving away daily passes to DryTown for the most creative photo submissions of ‘Flat Ruth & Kery’ anywhere you want to take them,” said Palmdale Crime Prevention Specialist Ruth Oschmann.

Prizes will be given away and winners notified the last weeks of May, June, July and Aug. Participants may submit as many photos as they wish. The last day to submit photos is Aug. 22.

“We’re looking for photos of ‘Flat Ruth & Kery’ in the most creative and original locations,” said Palmdale Crime Prevention Specialist Kery German. “Take it with you to the mall, your favorite parks, to your school, on your vacation—or anywhere you else you’d like!”

To get your own “Flat Ruth & Kery,” go to www.cityofpalmdale.org and download the artwork. There are also complete instructions for participants to begin posting pictures to Instagram, Facebook or Twitter with #flatruthandkery.

Palmdale students in grades K-4 in Palmdale will receive their very own “Flat Ruth & Kery” cutout through the Palmdale schools, compliments of the Palmdale neighborhood services department.

The contest is designed to promote awareness of public safety issues through the video series, “This is How We Roll, Palmdale with Ruth & Kery.”

“This is How We Roll, Palmdale with Ruth & Kery” is a monthly show that provides community information in a fun and humorous way.

The latest episode “Scam Wars: A New Hoax” is the first in a trilogy of videos focused on preventing scammers from stealing your money and identity (view it below). The program is available on Palmdale Channel 27 and the City’s YouTube channel, “CityofPalmdale.”
