Gospel artist Barbara McNairy at Palmdale Playhouse this Saturday

PALMDALE – Local gospel recording artist Barbara McNairy will celebrate the release of her eighth CD, He Showed Up, with a special concert this Saturday.

The show starts at 6 p.m. Saturday, April 23, at The Palmdale Playhouse, located at 38334 10th Street East in Palmdale. Tickets are $10.

A two-time Bravo Music Award nominee, McNairy has performed with renowned singers Albertina Walker, Vanessa Bell Armstrong and Reverend Calvin Bridges, and she has opened for Vicki Winans, connected with the famous Gospel group The Winans.

McNairy will perform selections from her new CD, which features a blend of contemporary and inspirational Gospel, as well as some of her best loved songs from previous releases such as “No One Like You,” “He Is So Amazing,” “Restoration” and “I Owe It All to You.”

McNairy is currently a teacher with the Palmdale School District. For the past 25 years, she has taught 6th grade and served as fine arts choir director at Joshua Hills Elementary School.

McNairy has earned several honors, including Palmdale School District’s Teacher of the Year and the Living Legacy Award. She was named to Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers and was a Disney Teacher of the Year nominee .

Tickets for all Palmdale Playhouse events may be purchased online at www.cityofpalmdale.org/playhouse, or at the Box Office beginning two hours before each show. For more information, call 661-267-5684.
