PALMDALE  – Two males were wounded early Sunday morning at the scene of a large underground party in Palmdale.

Someone called authorities at 12:13 a.m. and reported gunfire in the area of 20th Street East and Avenue Q, according to Lt. Ken Wright of the sheriff’s Palmdale Station.

Two males could be heard screaming in the background, Wright said.

Deputies got to the scene in eight minutes and saw vehicles hurriedly leaving the location. They were directed by witnesses to several vehicles but stops turned up nothing, the lieutenant said.

One victim was located in a dirt field and a second was found at a home near 17th Street East and Avenue R. Both were transported to the hospital by ambulance.

Another victim was found at a home near 17th Street East and Avenue R. [LUIS MEZA]

The victims are in their teens and both sustained gunshot wounds, but neither suffered life-threatening injuries, according to Wright.

Suspect information was not immediately available, and Wright said it was not immediately clear if the shooting was gang-related.

Sources said the shooting happened at an underground social media party held at an industrial complex in the 1800 block of East Avenue Q in Palmdale, but sheriff’s officials did not confirm this information.

You guys are both idiots. If they don’t have time it’s because they’re short staffed. They’re short staffed because there aren’t enough funds made available to the department. So more donated money translates to more officers able to answer party calls as opposed to gang shootings, break ins, domestic violence calls etc.

Um, and if your house had an armed robber on premises and they diverted a car to a loud party call because of someone complaining, how would you feel? Go ahead and complain to the watch commander, but the calls are handled by priority.

WOW If you call police because of loud music and massive people partying at 3 in the morning ,they say they dont have time for those kind of calls they have more important things to do.I guess my neighbors an I just will have to wait until someone pops off a couple rounds then it will be important,So please Antelope valley do not ask us for donations to your fallen officer fund and so forth i have better places to spend my money that are more important,

Oh come on! If you call the police to report a loud party and the call taker tells you “they dont have time for those kind of calls they have more important things to do” then you immediately ask to speak the Watch Commander. Guarantee you a car will be sent out.

We have tried doing the same and the officer didn’t come until hours later.

Then go and enjoy the party, free food, good music, and lots of beer. When you see the red and blue lights run like hell. You people that complain about parties just like to *itch, hide behind the cops don’t have the guts too go and talk too the home owners yourself, ever wonder why you weren’t invited too the party cause your the neighborhood Grouch.
