Palmdale to host Housing Rights Clinic Thursday

by The AV Times Staff • March 14, 2016

Housing RIghts ClinicPALMDALE – The city of Palmdale and the Housing Rights Center will host a free walk-in housing rights clinic this Thursday, March 17.

It will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. at the South Antelope Valley Emergency Services (SAVES), located at 1002 East Avenue Q-12 in Palmdale.

Housing rights clinics are held on the third Thursday of every month in Palmdale.

The clinics provide an opportunity for residents to ask questions and receive answers about fair housing, rent increases, repairs and more.

The Housing Rights Center is a nonprofit agency that works to help provide equal housing access to all residents in the communities it serves. The Center hosts public education seminars and assists home buyers, tenants and housing professionals with free counseling services on fair housing law, housing discrimination and housing discrimination complaint investigation.

For more information, call the Housing Rights Center at 800-477-5977, www.HousingRightsCenter.org or call Palmdale’s neighborhood services department at 661-267-5181.

Note that even though the city of Lancaster does not want to promote it, the same organization does a similar clinic in Lancaster in the morning the same day they do the afternoon clinic in Palmdale.

I assume Lancaster doesn’t mention it since the city is more interested in screwing their residents than having an organization like this help them avoid being screwed. As we know Rex is not a big proponent of fair housing law.
