Palmdale’s “Season of Service” continues this Saturday

by The AV Times Staff • March 2, 2016

SAVES PalmdalePALMDALE – The city of Palmdale’s 2016 “Season of Service” continues this Saturday, March 5, with a spring cleaning event at South Antelope Valley Emergency Services (SAVES), located at 1002 East Avenue Q-12 in Palmdale.

Registration for “Spring Cleaning: SAVES Edition” will take place from 8 to 8:30 a.m., and the event will run from 8:30 a.m. to approximately noon.

City staff and community volunteers will partner with the students of AV YouthBuild, Advancing Communities Together (ACT) and New Image Church in the annual spring cleaning of this service center.

Last year, Palmdale residents donated more than 40,000 hours of service.

“All it takes to volunteer is a willingness to give, an interest in your community, and your time,” Palmdale Community Programs Supervisor Trish Jones said. “There is no minimum number of hours required, every hour donated is valuable. And, there’s practically no limit to how you can get involved.”

Volunteers under age 16 must be accompanied by an adult. All participants must complete a Release of Liability (available at www.cityofpalmdale.org or at event registration).
