PALMDALE – A man was arrested early Wednesday morning after leading California Highway Patrol officers on a high-speed chase through Palmdale, authorities said.

“The pursuit began about 2 a.m. as a traffic and possible DUI stop near the intersection of Technology Drive and Sierra Highway,” CHP Officer Francisco Villalobos said.

The pursuit then went south on Sierra Highway to Pearblossom (SR138) Highway, then back on Sierra Highway to Palmdale Boulevard, Villalobos said.

The suspect then led police on a journey across Palmdale city streets before crashing in a desert field near 70th Street East and Avenue S.

The driver was then taken into custody without further incident, Villalobos said.

He was identified as 32-year-old Roberto Dominguez, and he was arrested on suspicion of evading a peace officer, CHP officials said Wednesday.

Dominguez was booked at the Palmdale Sheriff’s Station jail in lieu of $75,000, according to LASD inmate records.
