LANCASTER – A car was found submerged in the California Aqueduct in Lancaster Saturday and no one was inside, fire officials said.

The vehicle was spotted and reported shortly after 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 26, near 130th Street west and Avenue J, a Los Angeles County Fire dispatcher said.

A dive crew checked the underwater wreckage but found no one in the vehicle, the dispatcher said.

It’s unknown at this time to whom the vehicle belongs or why it’s in the aqueduct.
