PALMDALE – Twenty-one residents earned their graduation certificates from the city of Palmdale’s Partners Academy at their final session and closing ceremony held Tuesday, Dec. 1, at the Palmdale City Council Chamber.

It was the ninth class to graduate from the Academy, a program designed to present citizens with a first-hand look at city operations and services.  More than 200 individuals have now graduated from the Academy.

“You now have a greater insight into how our city works and I believe you will make a huge difference,” said Palmdale Mayor Jim Ledford.

Graduations certificates were presented by Community Programs Supervisor and Academy Coordinator Trish Jones, Mayor Ledford, and City Manager Jim Purtee.

The graduating class included Pauline Brown, Margo Carunida, Garry Cope, Denise Costarelli, Lorenzo Costarelli, Tim Cummings, Art Furtado, Earl Gately, Erika Guadalupe, Frank Guzman, Shanan Henry, Don Hoperich, Monica Hund, Howard Love, Yutaka Maseba, Carol Ross, Michael Ross, Adulfa Salgado, Michiko Shimizu, Nicole Strey and Roberta Williams.

The next Palmdale Partners Academy will be held in 2016 at a date yet to be determined.
