LANCASTER – A man was shot and wounded at a house in Lancaster Sunday afternoon and the gunman remains at large, authorities said.
The shooting took place about 4:15 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 15, at 45018 Redwood Avenue, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Lt. J. Diaz said.
The victim was shot once in the upper chest but his wound was not life-threatening, Diaz said.
The man was taken to a hospital for treatment; and the gunman fled the scene, Diaz said.
A motive for the attack, or if it was gang-related, was not known, according to Diaz.

Information sought in hookah lounge shooting
The assailant who shot a man in the chest last week at a Lancaster hookah lounge also remains on the loose, authorities said.
Sheriff’s gang detectives are seeking the public’s help on the case.
The incident was reported around 4:14 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 8, according to Deputy Kit Gruppie of the Lancaster Sheriff’s Station.
“Deputies responded to Antelope Valley Hospital regarding a gunshot victim,” Gruppie stated in a news release. “The victim stated he was shot at the Mazazik Hookah Lounge located on Valley Central Way. Deputies responded to the Hookah Lounge and canvassed for witnesses and evidence.”
The victim suffered a gunshot wound to the upper chest but is in stable condition, according to Gruppie. His name is being withheld due to the ongoing investigation.

Information sought in 2011 Mango Tango shooting
Local detectives are looking for additional witnesses or anyone who may have information regarding a 2011 shooting outside the Mango Tango club in Lancaster.
It happened around 2:05 a.m. on July 14, 2011, at Mango Tango, located at 44275 Division Street, according to OSS Detective Daniel Welle.
“Three victims were hit by gunfire as they stood near the car wash at the north end of the parking lot,” Welle stated. “Several arrests have been made, but I am seeking any additional witnesses to the crime.”
