LANCASTER – Authorities have identified the motorist who died Sunday when his pickup truck crashed on State Route 138 between Lancaster and Lebec.
The motorist – identified by the coroner’s office as 50-year-old Francisco Salcedo – was killed in a solo crash that happened around 1:30 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 8, on the two-lane highway west of 300th Street West, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Salcedo, who as the only person in his 2004 Toyota Tacoma, lost control of the vehicle as it was headed eastbound on Highway 138.
He allowed the vehicle to veer to the left, over the double yellow lines, into the westbound lanes, where it overturned, the CHP crash report said.
Salcedo was ejected from the pickup truck and died at the scene. Alcohol was suspected to be a factor in the crash, according to the CHP.
