PALMDALE – The City of Palmdale has announced the return of the Palmdale Color Vibe, a unique 5K where participants run, walk, or dance their way through stations and get blasted with blue, yellow, pink and purple colors.

The Palmdale Color Vibe 5K is set for 9 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, 2016, at the Palmdale Amphitheater, located at 2723 Rancho Vista Boulevard.

“[The last] Palmdale Color Vibe was a huge success and it’s going to be even bigger,” stated Palmdale Communications Manager John Mlynar.

How to register

Registration is available at www.cityofpalmdale.org/TheAmp. The fee for individual runners before Nov. 11 is $29.99, or $26.99 per runner in a team of four or more.

After Nov. 11, the cost is $60 per runner/$55 team. Day of event registration, if not sold out, is $65 per runner/$70 team. The registration fee includes entry into the 5K Color Vibe Run, a race bib and Color Vibe color pack. Children ages 1 to 12 get free registration with a paid adult, plus a processing fee. Up to two children may be registered for each paid adult. Event t-shirts will be available for purchase at the event.

A portion of the proceeds will be donated to a local charity, which will be announced at a later date.

The event will conclude with a large colorful dance party hosted by a professional sound crew and DJ.

The Color Vibe uses a cornstarch-based colored powder to tie-dye participants. The colored powder is made from food grade quality cornstarch using a manufacturing process that’s been custom developed for the Color Vibe Race Series. It is non-toxic and biodegradable, and it washes off easily.
