LANCASTER – Antelope Valley Fairgrounds officials are once again challenging residents to submit theme ideas for the AV Fair & Alfalfa Festival.The 2016 Fair is set for Aug. 19-28.
The winner of the Fair 2016 theme contest will ride in the annual Fair parade as a VIP, receive two tickets to all concerts and arena entertainment and be invited to the annual kick-off (Volunteer Appreciation) dinner.
“Kids” is the theme against which contestants must work.
To qualify, slogans must:
- Be five words or less;
- Specifically relate to the subject/word – kids;
- Not contain “R” Us (trademark infringement).
- Be submitted by Nov. 6 at 5 p.m.
Slogans need not rhyme, and multiple theme ideas can be submitted per entry. Theme ideas should be in list form, on one sheet of paper or in one email.Each entry must include complete contact information (i.e. name, address, phone number and e-mail) and can be submitted via fax, email, mail or hand-delivery.
All entries will be date-stamped as entered. If there are multiple entries with the same theme idea, only the entry submitted first will be included in the competition.

To qualify for the competition, entries must be submitted by 5 p.m., Friday, Nov. 6.
Antelope Valley Fair Association Directors will select the winning entry, and the winning theme will be announced Friday, Nov. 20.
