7 stolen vehicles recovered in Rosamond, 2 arrested

by The AV Times Staff • October 5, 2015

ROSAMOND – A tip from the public helped Rosamond authorities recover seven stolen vehicles and stolen firearms from a Rosamond residence on Friday.

Richard Whempner, 53, and Jeffrey Bradley, 34, were arrested in connection with the bust, according to a news release from the Kern County Sheriff’s Office.

“On [Oct. 2], deputies from the Rosamond Substation went to the 4700 block of Brabham Avenue on a tip from the public regarding the location of stolen vehicles,” officials said in the news release. “While at the residence, deputies found a stolen vehicle and saw what appeared to be stolen property.”

Deputies obtained a search warrant for the property and located seven confirmed stolen vehicles and numerous other stolen items, including several firearms, officials said.

Whempner was arrested on suspicion of being a felon in possession of firearms, while Bradley was arrested on suspicion of being a felon in possession of firearms, possession of stolen vehicles, possession of stolen property and possession of a controlled substance, officials said in the news release.

Bradley is being held on a $190,000 bail and Whempner is being held on $30,000 bail. Both are due in court Tuesday.

The vehicles and most of the property were returned to the rightful owners, officials said.

Come one, Kern County, get a handle on this. Don’t allow these scumbags to make Rosamond as bad as Lancaster!

LOL Rex has got his Lancaster city attorney, Alison Burns, in Rosamond now, and Ron Smith as the new GM. It’s not the thugs who will make it a mini Lancaster. It’ll be Rex and his castle building! Good luck with that!

Not enough churches in Rosamond to be a “Christian” city like Lancaster…fail.

These two have been thieving for many years. They steal cars, get caught, go to prison, get out, steal cars, go back…etc.

I can remember seeing Jeff’s name in the newspaper for the same exact crime out in Rosamond about 10 years ago. He was one of those local kids who became enamored with the import car craze and after the Nick Cage film “Gone In 60 Seconds” came out he decided to start swiping cars.

      Dumb kid…..
