The circus is coming to town!

by The AV Times Staff • September 28, 2015

PALMDALE – The Circus Vargas spectacular returns to Palmdale this week. The big top will be erected at Antelope Valley Mall from Oct. 1-5.

The new show “ArleQuin!” will feature “aerialists, acrobats, clowns and the ballyhoo of nostalgic Americana,” organizers said in a news release.

ArleQuin! is about a boy who dreams of joining the circus. “When night falls, a myriad of colorful characters fill his sleep, among them, the magical ArleQuin, a harlequin who serves as both guide and friend and shows him the beauty, wonder and awe that await him under the Big Top,” organizers said.

The animal-free circus production “still manages to deliver audiences the nostalgic, authentic, traditional circus feel that fans love,” organizers said.

“Flying trapeze, jugglers, clowns, aerialists, acrobats, the lights, the music… you know you have most definitely entered a magical circus realm where you prepare to be amazed and astonished,” organizers said.

The circus opens at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 1. Spectators who arrive 45 minutes early will get to meet and mingle with the cast of ArleQuin; and early birds also will be treated to an interactive pre-show where children of all ages can create their own magic under the big top, according to organizers.

Ticket are $15 to $25 for bleacher seating, $25 to $35 for arena seating, $45 to $55 for reserve ringside seating and $60 to $70 for the VIP experience. Tickets can be purchased at www.circusvargas.com, by phone at 877-GOTFUN-1 (877-468-3861) or at the circus box office, which opens one day prior to the first show.

You can watch the circus on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month on channel 28 at 5 pm. The ringleader looks like Kenny Rogers but acts like Attilla the Hun.

Kudos to Circus Vargas for now being animal free!!! This looks like something similar to Cirque du Soleil without the drive or high priced tickets. I can’t wait!!!!!
