AGUA DULCE – A charming parade followed by an evening of music, dancing, games and family fun… It’s all happening at the 2015 Agua Dulce Country Fair!

Themed “Sunset Over Sweetwater,” the annual event takes place this Saturday, Sept. 19.

The family-friendly festivities will kick off at 4 p.m. with a parade that travels north on Agua Dulce Canyon Road, from Davenport Road to Darling Road.

“You never know what you’ll see coming down the streets – horses, camels, monkeys, tractors, queens…Pick your spot early because the road closes about 3:30 p.m.,” stated organizer Amanda Buchan.

Many entrants toss candy and other goodies into the audience, so spectators are advised to bring a bag for candy, bring some water to stay hydrated and have lots of fun.

When the parade winds down, the Fair begins at the Agua Dulce Women’s Club, located at 33201 Agua Dulce Canyon Road.

A welcoming ceremony is set for 5 p.m., which includes the presentation of dignitaries, Grand Marshals, Family of the Year and Pioneer Family of the Year. Ribbons and trophies also will be presented to parade winners, and there will a chili cook-off, salsa contest and jam contest.

The evening will include live performances by various bands, including Emerald City from 4 to 6:15 p.m.; The Heard from 6:45 to 7:15 p.m.; Landia from 7:45 to 9:45 p.m.; and Wild Side from 10 p.m. until midnight.

The Fair will also feature silent auctions, cake walks, food and retail vendors, and adult and children’s games, including Wheel of Fortune, Chicken Poop Checkers, Giant Jenga, Silly String Wars and Jalapeno Holler, just to name a few.

“Bring the family and be part of our country for a while.  Enjoy this big party in our small town!” Buchan added.

Admission to the 2015 Agua Dulce Country Fair is $5, with free admission for children ages 2 and under. For more information, plus a schedule of events and activities, visit www.AguaDulce-CountryFair.com.
