PALMDALE – A dispute Wednesday afternoon at a Palmdale apartment complex escalated into a shooting that left one man injured, and three suspects were arrested in Lancaster a short time later, authorities said.

The shooting happened around 12:40 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2, on the 38000 block of 20th Street East in Palmdale, according to Lt. Johnson of the Palmdale Sheriff’s Station.

“They were all arguing there for a while… and then one person was shot,” Johnson said. “He suffered injuries that were non-life-threatening.”

The suspects got into a vehicle and fled the scene, and then the suspect vehicle was stopped in Lancaster less than an hour later, sheriff’s officials said.

“When deputies in Palmdale put out the radio broadcast of the suspects’ description and the vehicle description, deputies here in Lancaster associated that vehicle with an address… in the east area of Lancaster. They watched the location, at which time the suspect vehicle appeared on the street,” said Lt. Fender of the Lancaster Sheriff’s Station.

“Deputies conducted a traffic stop on that vehicle, and while taking the three men into custody, one of the suspects fled from the vehicle,” Fender said. Deputies contained the neighborhood and captured the suspect in a resident’s backyard, the lieutenant added.

“During a search of the area, the deputies recovered a firearm that they believed may have been used in the assault in Palmdale,” Fender said.

All three suspects were arrested in connection with the shooting. Their names were not immediately released.

Maybe they work the graveyard shift. Really? People that have it within them to shoot someone in an apartment complex might not be real employable. Cmon three on one, was shooting him really necessary? Why couldn’t you just have just given him a good beat down without risking the lives other people in the complex by firing a gun? The police response would not have been as swift in getting yourselves caught. Think people, think!
