by The AV Times Staff • August 6, 2015

jurassic park Palmdale Family Movie NightPALMDALE – Stephen Spielberg’s classic “Jurassic Park” will be presented on the big screen at the City of Palmdale’s “Family Movie Night” this Friday, Aug. 7, at the Palmdale Amphitheater, 2723 Rancho Vista Blvd.

Tickets for Family Movie Night are $2, with kids 12 and under admitted free. The gates will open at 6:30 p.m. and the movie will start at dusk. Moviegoers are allowed to bring a picnic dinner and non-alcoholic beverages to Family Movie Night.

Jurassic Park, directed by Stephen Spielberg, was a 1993 science fiction blockbuster film. Paleontologists Alan Grant (Sam Neill) and Ellie Sattler (Laura Dern), and mathematician Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum) are among a select group chosen to tour an island theme park populated by dinosaurs created from prehistoric DNA. While the park’s mastermind, billionaire John Hammond (Richard Attenborough), assures everyone that the facility is safe, they find out otherwise when various ferocious predators break free and go on the hunt.

Following Jurassic Park will be Monster’s Inc. on Friday, Aug. 14, and Guardians of the Galaxy on Friday, Aug. 21. Crafts for kids will be provided for both movies, while local Latin rockers Boulevard Knights will perform on Aug. 21 before the movie.
