LANCASTER – The Lancaster Sheriff’s Station Traffic Unit is seeking more information regarding a fatal single-vehicle collision that occurred around 5:20 p.m. July 8 on Avenue M at 30th Street West.
A white 2013 Ford Fusion swerved into oncoming traffic near the 30th Street West intersection before crashing into two concrete poles, detectives said previously.
The elderly driver was critically injured and his wife, Marie Louise Saldubehere, was killed in the collision.
“Investigators recently received information that prior to the collision occurring, the occupants of the Fusion were assisted in some manner by a white male in his 40s, somewhere in the vicinity of Avenue M and the 14 freeway,” stated Sergeant David Jennings in a news release. “The reason for the assistance is unclear and yet could be extremely beneficial to the investigation of the collision.”
The Lancaster Sheriff’s Station Traffic Unit is seeking the public’s help in contacting that person.
