Hit-and-run victim dies of injuries, suspect still at-large

PALMDALE – The pedestrian involved in a July 8 hit-and-run crash at the Four Points intersection has died, according to the coroner’s office.

Jamie McGinn, 35, of Rosamond was pronounced dead at 6:40 p.m. Friday, July 10, as a result of her injuries, coroner’s Assistant Chief Ed Winter said Monday morning.

McGinn was struck by a vehicle around 4:53 a.m. Wednesday, July 8, on Fort Tejon Road at the intersection of Pearblossom Highway, an area commonly referred to as “Four Points.”

McGinn was crossing eastbound on Fort Tejon Road in the crosswalk, and the vehicle, believed to be a 2003-2006 Volvo, was traveling southbound on Fort Tejon Road, according to Detective Brent Bunch of the Palmdale Sheriff’s Station.

“The Volvo collided into the female pedestrian and continued southbound on Fort Tejon Road and out of sight,” Bunch stated.

Detectives are still seeking the public’s help in locating the driver, Bunch said Monday morning.

  6. My heart goes out to those who loved her. May God give her parent/s, siblings, extended family members, and friends who loved her the strength to get through such a sad time in their lives. I lost my husband 14 years ago and it only seems like yesterday that we lost him. Death is never easy and then to pass away the way she did, someone leaving her to die knowingly or unknowingly is even more painful for the family. This young girls deserves decency in her lives and honestly negative comments are cruel. Family members read this stuff so be compassionate towards them as they grieve the loss of their loved one. I have never met her but my condolences to the family and to all who loved her. May God give you peace during this very difficult time in your lives.

  9. How tragic. My condolences to the family. And to David G., please note that not all human beings who commit such a crime are illegal aliens. Hopefully they find the person who committed this crime. In the meantime, let’s leave Donald out of this.

You may be right, but just “maybe” until the law finds this criminal we can comment and say for sure if it was an illegal alien or not, because for your information, just in case you are not aware, not only “illegal aliens” drive in this country, and once the law finds this criminal I hope you dont eat your words.
    Until then please stop showing your hate for all ilegal aliens, most of them come to work and in search of a better life.

    • I don’t think I have ever seen a Mexican driving a Volvo. Kinda trashes your odds.

      • There are lots of Mexicans and other humans from LatinAmerica that drive Volvos, Mercedes, BMW’s etc,.
        Like I said before lots of us come here to work and earn a decent life and can afford an expensive cars too, but this doesnt mean Mexicans are the “only ones”.
        David G is only commenting that out of frustration because the Mexicans he knows drive better cars than he does.

        • I agree he probably doesnt own a care or hates on mexicans because they have better alot of things than he does. p.s. and no not only mexicans drive and commit crimes just to refresh your guys minds.

      • I drive a 2011 Volvo S40 that I bought with my own credit and hard work. Wtf do you mean? My parents both drive Beemers less than 5yrs old. We are all educated, hard working and honorable people. I am self employed and both of my parents work and have college educations. No they did not come here illegally, no we are not criminals and YES WE DRIVE VOLVOS
