by The AV Times Staff • May 26, 2015

fatal crashSUN VALLEY – A 24-year-old Palmdale man was killed Monday when his motorcycle collided with a vehicle in Sun Valley, authorities said.

Hovik Mkrtchian died at the scene as a result of his injuries, said coroner’s Assistant Chief Ed Winter.

The fatal collision happened around 10:10 p.m. Monday, May 25, at Glenoaks Boulevard and Nettleton Street, according to the Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Traffic Division.

Mkrtchian was riding a 2006 Honda RS motorcycle south on Glenoaks Boulevard when it collided with the right front corner of a 2006 Hummer H2 that was turning left from northbound Glenoaks Boulevard onto westbound Nettleton Street, police said.

The Hummer was driven by 51-year-old Sun Valley resident Mukhtar Choudhary, who was uninjured and remained at the scene until emergency services arrived, police said.

There was no evidence of impairment of either driver, according to the LAPD.

Detectives from the Valley Traffic Division are seeking additional information regarding the fatal collision. Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Bill Bustos at 818-644-8021.
